Early Golf Exposure
Ana Boone, a 2026 high school graduate, lives in ChampionsGate, FL. She has been playing golf since she was about two years old—well, not exactly. Her dad loves golf, and from a young age, he would take her to the golf course, introducing her to the game. This early exposure led her to join golf clinics and participate in a few tournaments until she was around seven years old.
Now, here’s the part where Ana decided she no longer had an interest in golf. She started swimming and taking tennis lessons, quickly becoming skilled enough to play and win most of her tennis matches. However, after a while, much to her coach’s dismay, she lost interest in tennis. She had another sport in mind: gymnastics. As a young girl, Ana had friends who did gymnastics and would bring back medals and trophies from competitions. She wanted to do gymnastics too. Gymnastics became her passion, and it was all she could think about. She practiced diligently at the gym and at home, eager to advance to the next level, and she progressed rapidly. However, her gymnastics journey came to an end after only two years due to the pandemic, after which she moved to Florida.
Florida
In the summer of 2020, Ana moved to Florida and ended up living near a golf course. Her dad asked if she wanted to give golf another try, and although she was unsure, she said yes. At 12 years old, she was new to the game but had the confidence of someone who had been playing for years. However, she quickly realized that she hadn’t evolved with the game since she hadn’t stayed involved in golf throughout her younger years. Disappointed but not discouraged, Ana was determined to improve as quickly as possible, although she wasn’t sure what it would take. By age 13, she realized that her progress was slow and that reaching the level she aspired to would require a higher level of commitment, and determination. She set a goal, and her journey began. Her dedication to golf reached new heights as she put in many hours each day, becoming deeply passionate about the game and focused on reaching a much higher level. She dreamed of playing on the LPGA and possibly representing the USA in the Olympics one day. With support and instruction from her father, Aaron Boone, as well as expert instruction and guidance from Coach Bob Lohr, Ana started improving quickly. She quickly began winning US Kids Local Tournaments. At 14, she won her first Florida Junior Tour event, and by 15, she had claimed victory in the FSGA Junior Match Play Tournament. By the end of 2023, she had achieved 17 top 10 finishes, 10 top 5 finishes, and 2 wins.
In 2024, Ana experienced her fair share of ups and downs, but she reached a major milestone by earning medalist honors in stroke play at the FSGA Junior Match Play, with impressive scores of 69 and 68. She also finished as the tournament runner-up. Her first victory of the year came at the NB3 Orlando Showcase, where she posted consistent scores of 71-71.
The biggest highlights in 2025 for Ana is making it to semifinals at the FSGA Women’s Am, and then three wins in a row at the NFPGA Jr. Championship, AJGA Mizuno St. Simons Island, and FSGA Girl’s Jr. Championship, which qualified her to play in the U.S. Girl’s Jr. Championship. Ana finished off 2025 being named FSGA Girl’s Jr. Player of the Year
2026 began with a win at the first AJGA tournament of the year at Discover Puerto Rico. Ana won by 8 at -10. With many more tournaments planned for 2026 before heading off to Rice University in August, to play in the inaugural team of 2026.
Ana loves reading inspirational quotes, and one of the first that motivated her as a beginner golfer was, “Act as if, and you will become such.” That mindset helped shape both the person and the player she is today.
